The Tupac protege will award a winning student with a $3,000 scholarship for the best cover song.
Candyman 187 has announced the launch of a contest to award a student with a $3,000 scholarship for the best cover of his single "High off the Fame" featuring Snoop Dogg.
The Tupac protege is asking students to record their cover of his track and upload it to YouTube. Contestants, who must be at least 13 years old, have until October 15th to post their version of the profanity-free cut with his website (www.candyman187.com) in the description. On October 31st, the student with the most likes on YouTube will be awarded the scholarship prize.
"I'm really excited to hear different students' interpretation of my song," said the rapper. "Music education overall is really important to me, as it allows students to express themselves in a safe, and creative way. I'm happy that I'm able to give back in a small, yet meaningful way that will hopefully inspire others to do the same."
