Tupac Shakur`s Script "Live 2 Tell"
The only screenplay he ever wrote is about to go into production. Tupac wrote Live 2 Tell during an 11-month sentence at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, N.Y., and now the script has been acquired by Preston Holmes and Ivan Juzang’s NStar Studios.
Holmes who collaborated with Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, in creating the documentary Tupac: Resurrection will produce Live 2 Tell along with producer Dwight Williams. Afeni Shakur herself will be the executive producer for her son’s movie.
Live 2 Tell tells the story 0f a teenage drug lord and his efforts to leave his life of crime. Dubbing the movie to be still relevant to today’s youth, Ivan Juzang said in a statement:
“This kid was a genius, and the net of it is, he was from this community, he knew the struggles these young people were dealing with. And he’s able to talk to young people in 2011, 2012, the same way he was able to talk to young people in 1995.”
NStar Studios is preparing an $11 million budget and will commence production in the first quarter of 2012.
